Services advertising and providing services on the Internet

Article Abstract:

Service firms with a history of positive or above average financial performances could expect substantial positive outcomes with respect to the availability of the Internet. The Internet is set to become a vital part of the marketing strategies of service firms, encompassing such areas as services provision and services advertising. Stock price reactions to the presence of Internet-related services indicate a substantial 0.85% stock price reaction on the average. The Internet, however, is not considered as important in the advertising strategies of service firms.

Trading rule profits in European currency spot cross-rates

Article Abstract:

Currency spot cross-rates are transparent enough to eliminate moving average (MA) trading rule profits. This was gleaned from the results of an application of the MA trading rule to six European spot cross-rates to find out if there are opportunities for profitable trading. Results showed that MA trading rules are marginally profitable for two cross-rates and not profitable at all for the four others. Similar results were derived from bootstrapping and out-of-sample tests, as well as examination of subsamples characterized by central bank intervention.
