Snap-on-handles for a non-powered hacksaw: An ergonomics evaluation, redesign and testing

Article Abstract:

The ergonomically designed handles developed for a non-powered hacksaw has given special emphasis to the integration of knowledge of the hand physiology and the anthropometric aspects of the hand. The concept of snap-on-handles with a fixed hacksaw is compared with ergonomically designed hacksaw handles, which are tested with original and conventional hacksaw handles in terms of performance, muscular effort and subjective scores.

Application of pressure mapping techniques to measure push and gripping forces with precision

Article Abstract:

A study evaluating the vibrations during gripping and push forces induced by powered tools in the upper limb is presented. A system based on the pressure mapping technique is designed to measure the coupling forces at the hand-handle interface of tools.
