The motion picture 'The Blair Witch Project' has a considerable impact on the Hollywood, CA, motion picture industry's perception of the Internet World Wide Web. The movie's producers set up a Web site to promote the film as part of an overall marketing campaign. The site demonstrated that the power of creative, original Web content can transform Web movie sites into destinations in themselves instead of merely being a mix of print and television publicity.

Companies that have been recognized and awarded for their customer service adopt high-profile recognition programs. One such company is Lexington, SC-based Pirelli Cable & Systems, which won the 1997 Award of Excellence from the International Customer Service Association. Pirelli uses a multi-tiered recognition program, which includes customer service training, that has helped make customer service part of the culture. Pirelli reinforces its customer service training and continuously links customer service with future sales. Commercial Financial Services, a Tulsa, OK-based collection agency, requires all its collection personnel to undergo a seven-week training course, which includes topics on how to treat the debtors with dignity and courtesy.
