The New York Daily News publication has launched a unique promotion that is designed to encourage children to read newspapers and, in so doing, sharpen their grasp of current events and develop their reading skills. Its 'Class Trip 2000 Giveaway' promotion will award any class from the New York tri-state area that clips the most contest coupons by Apr 7, 2000, with an all-expense paid trip for 50 children and their chaperons to the Islands of Adventures theme park in Florida. Classes that qualify for second, third or fourth place will receive runnerup prizes.

Best Buy Company Inc has partnered with Pics Retail Networks (PRN) to offer an in-store programming designed to enhance the shopping experience of consumers intending to buy high definition television sets (HDTV). Under the agreement, PRN will provide television shows, advertising and other informative content regarding the HDTV technology. Through the 40- min in-store programming, Best Buy customers will be able to comparison shop.
