Article Abstract:

Ayala Corp.'s bid for as Manila, Philippines water privatization project was ambitious in that it seeks to cut water tariff rates by 30% for consumers over the first 10-years of the project. Other competing bids ranged from between 56% and 69%. Ayala was awarded the 25-years water utility concession for the east zone of Manila. Ayala is a consortium that includes Bechtel Enterprises and United Utilities of the UK.
