Attractive

Article Abstract:

Goldman Sachs is optimistic about US equities and sees the S and P 500 as likely to reach 1200 a year from April 1998. Earnings growth could be better than expected for a number of sectors, such as those geared to the domestic economy, where demand is strong. These sectors include retailing and airlines. High return on equity means that high stock valuations can be justified, though high returns are concentrated among larger companies. There are still undervalued stocks that could perform well.
