Sony Corporation is marketing compact disc players to the American market. Compact disc players are digital audiodisc players that use a laser beam instead of a tone arm and stylus. The initial marketing effort was aimed at the stereo fanatic. Beginning in 1984 Sony will market the new technological compact disc players to the general market. The disc player is compatible with a stereo system. A series of digital accessories has been introduced to eat away at the traditional system.

Nokia merchandising supports fashion image

Irving, TX-based wireless equipment maker Nokia is featuring model Niki Taylor on new in-store merchandising and point-of-purchase materials to enhance its market positionioning and brand building efforts. The company noted that cellular telephones are increasingly becoming a fashion statement, and desires to lead its competitors in terms of technology and design. The Nokia merchandising system is modular and can be adapted into any cellular equipment retail environment.
