Tracking your IT investment

Article Abstract:

Each organization using information technology (IT) ought to evaluate its investment in IT beyond the traditional analyses of budget and cost-benefit justification to the total relationship of IT to organization activities. Various information technology ratios (ITRs) measure IT investment as a percentage of revenue, IT investment per employee, IT activity mix group, and IT resource mix. These can help an organization develop a multi-year plan, which is essential to effective management of IT.
