Therapeutic antibody gene transfer

Article Abstract:

A convincing evidence indicating that, in vivo therapeutic antibody, gene transfer is possible at the preclinical level, which would help to potentially accelerate the translation of therapeutic human monoclonal antibodies (mABs) from preclinical level to clinical sales is provided. This evidence employs a modification of the 2A self-processing sequence derived from the foot-and-mouth disease virus to express a full-length mAB from a single promoter.

Problems in monitoring horizontal gene transfer in field trials of transgenic plants

Article Abstract:

The problems in monitoring horizontal gene transfer in field trials of transgenic plants are detailed. The HGT from transgenic plants to microbes has an environmental impact at a frequency of trillion times lower than the current risk assessment and estimates the frequency and the current methods of environments sampling to capture genes or traits in a recombinant, which are too insensitive for monitoring evolution by HGT.

Complementation of placental defects and embryonic lethality by trophoblast-specific lentiviral gene transfer

Article Abstract:

Placenta-specific gene incorporation by lentiviral transduction of mouse blastocysts after removal of the zona pellucida is reported. The application of this method substantially rescued mice deficient in Ets2, Mapk14, also known as p38x and Mapk1 (Erk2) from embryonic lethality caused by placental defects.
