Three back Centrica

Article Abstract:

Centrica faces two problems, competition in the UK market for gas supply to households, and gas buying obligations. Analysts see concern about these problems as exaggerated, and three brokers rate the company's stocks a buy, from a sample of six, while two rate them a sell and one rates them a hold. The buyers are Credit Lyonnais Laing, Panmure Gordon and ABN-Amro Hoare Govett. Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and Greig Middleton are sellers. Salomon Brothers is a holder and sees Centrica as a buyer only over the long term.
