U.S. force taps PR firm for Iraq

Article Abstract:

Iraqex, a business clearing- house company was awarded a $6 million PR and advertising contract by the Multi National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) to accurately inform the Iraqi people of the Coalition' goals and build support for the coalition forces in Iraq and counter the negative reports about the coalition. Iraqex is owned by Lincoln Alliance Corp. a business intelligence company based in D.C. Its brief includes providing direct input on the presentations of spokespeople from the MNC-I and the Chief of Mission, daily advice to deal with local and international media, weekly reports on Iraqi public opinion, recruitment and training of Iraqis to become PR/ad firm employees and serve as military and non-military spokespersons.

UA relies on PR for Chapter 11 rebound

Plagued by an economic downturn, United Airlines filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 10. It is banking on PR firm Gavin Anderson & Co. to bail it out in assuring investors and potential passengers that its airline will bounce back from the crisis, unlike other airlines that went under.

Delta Air takes PR rap over 'profiling'

Delta air lines' approval to run the computer assisted passenger prescreening system (CAPPS II) has met with severe dissidence from the PR industry. Bill Scannel, a PR executive has launched boycottdelta.com, a website slamming Delta's move to implement CAPPS II.
