GoSystem 2 is a fully integrated in-house tax system suitable for medium-sized to large accounting firms intending to automate their tax operations. The system was developed by CLR Fast-Tax and can be used for a whole range of tax-related functions, including tax management, compliance and research. Its subsystem, the GoSystem 2 1040, handles all activities needed to comply with Federal tax return form 1040, from collecting and entering tax information to printing the tax return. The subsystem can be used as a stand-alone product or as part of a local area network. It is equipped with comprehensive documentation capabilities and has support features that include various communication links with CLR Fast-Tax. The company provides assistance in installing the system, trains users and offers information on updates and new products.

How to select the best in-house tax preparation software for your practice

Article Abstract:

Accounting firms evaluating in-house tax preparation software should base their analysis on six considerations, including: the volume of returns; the complicated level of returns; and the complexity of state tax return forms. When selecting a microcomputer tax preparation system, six criteria should be used including: hardware requirements; cost; and forms and schedules. When choosing a software preparation system, many vendors will sell firms their previous year's package at a steep discount. A firm should also get hands-on experience with software to decide if it will match its needs and tax preparation process.
