Vertical integration and non-linear price adjustments: The Spanish poultry sector

Article Abstract:

A study investigates the non-linear adjustments of prices in the Spanish poultry marketing chain, focusing on the question of whether or not the country's poultry farmers benefit from unanticipated positive and negative supply or demand shocks. Results indicated that, in the long run, price transmission is perfect and any supply or demand shocks are fully transmitted to all prices in the system.

The impact of exchange rate volatility on US poultry exports

Article Abstract:

A panel data for 49 importing nations over two subperiods, 1976-1985 and 1986-2000 was used to examine the relationship between exchange rate volatility and the US poultry. The results suggest that the choice of volatility measure matters, as there was a positive relationship between exchange rate uncertainty and poultry exports.
