Digital imaging services in the United Kingdom

Article Abstract:

Digital imaging is still a relatively new technology in the United Kingdom, with only three-fourths of specialty retailers offering digital services in the the last two years. Although some companies are offering digital imaging services, only a small amount of this work is being done in-house. For example, while 81% of companies offer photo CD scans/transfer, only 10% offer this service on-site. Companies may still be waiting to determine the level of profits which can be generated by this service before investing in expensive equipment. Companies appear to be optimistic eventhough most firms only get less than 10,000 pounds sterling in digital imaging sales.

Event photography roars at MGM Lion Habitat in Las Vegas

Article Abstract:

MGM Grand Hotel/Casino is offering photography sessions with a lion cub. The unique opportunity to have a digital photo taken at the Lion Habitat in the Las Vegas, NV, hotel is available for $20 for two 5x7 or 8x10 pictures. Only 400 visitors are allowed to have their picture taken each day to allow time for the lion cub's care. The attraction will be able to accomodate 600 photo sessions a day after a planned upgrade.
