When the FD becomes CEO

Article Abstract:

The modern finance director (FD) has a privileged overview of his organization and shares many transferable skills with his boss, and hence the FD is often offered the job when the chief executive's post falls vacant. However, while it is important for a chief executive officer (CEO) to be financially literate, there are other qualities that he or she must possess to succeed, the most important of which is leadership.
