Where to find company freebies

Article Abstract:

Stockholder benefits are a reward for stockholder loyalty, and function as a marketing tool. Stockholder may have to be registered for a minimum period such as six months before qualifying for benefits. There is a wide range of benefits available. They include carpets, building materials, and discounts from department stores. There is insufficient information on how many stockholders make use of these benefits. Boots estimates that between 60% and 70% of vouchers sent to stockholders are redeemed.

Freedom of information at a price

Article Abstract:

Obtaining information on securities can be done through share information services. Investors should assess whether they need real-time information or whether they can wait until newspapers have been published, since these contain share prices for the previous day. Teletext and Ceefax offer information through the television, and Ceefax prices are updated seven times daily, with data on the 300 largest UK companies. Phone services can provide information on a smaller number of companies.
