Wines from Paris

Article Abstract:

Wines from Paris is a retailer of wines located in The Vaults building in the port of Leith, Scotland. Owner Judith Paris had no previous business experience before starting up the firm, but her background in journalism and public relations has served her well in that it gave her a good marketing sense. The early years of the firm were difficult ones, and Paris complements the expertise of her accountant, Ramsay & Co's (Edinburgh) Stuart Ramsay, with offering her excellent advice that made the company a success. The major problem faced by the firm is cash flow: the firm carries 400 wines, and to maintain the continuity of supply necessitates maintaining large stocks, which means that a significant amount of capital is tied down in bonds.
