Working out your options

Article Abstract:

Investment software is available for those involved in options markets. Charting option premiums is not seen as sueful in the way that share price charts are valued. Options software is useful for pricing and assessing an option's fair value. Software can also be used for accounting work involved in keeping records of profits and losses. Technical analysis packages may include this type of software. Packages should be able to assess volatility for shares underlying the options.

Budget priced programs for fun and profit

Article Abstract:

UK investors can choose from a number of inexpensive investment software products with a minimum of ten costing less than 100 pounds sterling. The majority use DOS, though some are used with Windows. Chart types and technical indicators are lacking compared to more expensive investment software products, but investors may find that low-cost software is enough for their needs. Companies offering these products in the UK include Meridian Software and Updata.

For the seriously sophisticated

Article Abstract:

Investment software for advanced users in the UK involves an investment not only in the product but also in terms of the time it takes to use the products. Investors should assess the time they have for learning and whether the sums they invest are large enough to merit buying sophisticated software. Technical indicators tend to be more sophisticated with the more advanced packages. Investors may also be able to input data for analysis.
