M.B.A. recruiting and hiring

Article Abstract:

A survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers on the recruitment of Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduates and attitudes towards them, which had a 21% response rate, indicates that 43.7% of respondents recruit people with MBAs, focusing on 8.4 schools on average. The survey found that almost a third of employers believe that MBA graduates tend to be more focused on their career than undergraduates, that they are more mature and have more experience.

Issues are presented concerning the strategies used by companies to recruit employees from colleges. The shortage of employees in certain industries is discussed. A report on the 2000 Employer Benchmark Survey is included.

A survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers concerning the recruitment and hiring of master of business administration (MBA) students examines the skills sought by employers and the salaries of beginning employees. Topics addressed include how employers decide which schools to recruit from, and how recruiters evaluate the skills of M.B.A. students.
