Choosing a nest site: contests and catalysts

Article Abstract:

A game theory is applied in observing the arrival at the nesting area of a group of birds. The birds do not arrive all at the same time so what is observed is how latecomers choose their nesting area, whether they seek a vacant site or go to the occupied nests. Game theory indicates that the vacant area may not really be the best because the birds that arrived earlier may have chosen nesting areas that are not invadable by humans, thereby leaving the invadable areas to the latecomers. Game theory then differentiates the situation of displaced birds and early birds.

The conceptualization and evolution of CPC's management and development programs is also traced.
