Blue-emitting copper-doped zinc oxide nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The first synthesis of Cu doped in the core region of ZnO nanocrystals and fluorescing in the blue region is reported, thereby establishing the novel possibility of using these as fluorescent probes. The ultraviolet (UV)-absorption spectra has shown a nonmonotonic variation of the band gap similar to the Mn-doped ZnO, while a characteristic blue fluorescence arising from transitions involving Cu-d states might be observed from these samples.

Synthesis and characterization of Mn-doped ZnO nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The synthesis and characterization of several sizes on manganese-doped zinc oxygen nanocrystals, both in the freestanding and the capped particle forms are studied. Fluorescence emission, electron paramagnetic resonance, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy provide evidence for the presence of manganese in the interior as well as on the surface of the nanocrystals.

Synthesis and optical properties of CdS nanoribbons

Article Abstract:

Rapid production of single crystalline CdS nanoribbions with hexagonal wurtzite phase is achieved by thermal evaporation of CdS powder on Si wafers. The role of flow rate of the Ar gas and the temperature on the size and shape of the CdS nanoribbons are studied.
