CABB/SF-Chem deal creates chlorine major

Clariant Acetyl Building Blocks (CABB), one of the largest manufaturers of monochloroacetic acid (MCAA), has acquired SF-Chem from Capvis Private Equity. The deal is projected to be finalized by the end of August 2007, and integration will be completed in a year. The article presents implications and forecasts of the acquisition deal.

Cambridge Major finds its European buy in ChemShop

U.S.-based supplier of outsourced chemistry services to the pharmaceutical industry Cambridge Major Laboratories (CML) has acquired the Netherlands-based API development services supplier ChemShop. This is the company's first acquisition deal in Europe. The scope of the acquisition deal and CML's plans are discussed.

CVC buys up Taminco and Univar

Article Abstract:

UK-based private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has agreed to a merger with Netherlands-based Univar at 53.50 euro/share. The company has also acquired 75% of Belgium-based Taminco for approximately 800 million euros. The proceedings of the deals are discussed.
