CF2Cl2 decomposition over nanocrystalline MgO: Evidence for long induction periods

Article Abstract:

A study is carried out on the reaction between CF2Cl with nanoscale MgO at 325 degree Celsius and higher temperature. The reaction results in the formation of MgFe2 as a predominant solid product, with CCl4, and CO2 formed as the main gaseous products when excess of halocarbons is used.

Changes in texture and catalytic activity of nancrystalline MgO during its transformation to MgCl(sub 2) in the reaction with 1-chlorobutane

Article Abstract:

New opportunities for the synthesis of multicomponent catalysts, MgO/MgCl2/MgF2, by a reaction with molecules containing both chlorine and fluorine atoms are discovered. They may have high surface area and unusual catalytic properties in acid-based reactions.

Relative secondary ion yields of polymers

Article Abstract:

A method is developed to determine the relative secondary ion yields of 2 polymers by examining polymer mixtures. Results indicate that the pendent groups on the silixane main chain have a significant effect on ion yields of the polymer.
