CHINA: COATINGS BY GERMAN ALLIGATOR

Article Abstract:

The two joint ventures of German Alligator Farbwerke and the Shanghai Shenzen General Paint Factory in China are expected to sell about 17,000 tonnes of architectural paints in year 2000, up from about 15,000 tonnes in 1999. A factory built by the two partners next to an existing plant of the General Paint Factory in Shanghai produces more than 7,000 tonnes of dispersion paints per year. The Chinese operations of Alligator generate a profit margin of 10%.

GERMANY: ALLIGATOR INAUGURATES MODERNISED PLANT

Article Abstract:

The modernised factory of Alligator Farbwerke in Neufahrn, Germany was put into operation on 24 September 1998. The coating producer had invested DM 25mn in the factory, which now has an annual capacity of 30,000 t of silicate dispersions and plasters.

CHINA: MARKET FOR AGRICULTURAL MACHINE COATINGS

Article Abstract:

The market for varnishes for agricultural machines in China is estimated at 20,000 to 30,000 tonnes per year. While currently amino and alkyd resins dominate, demand is expected to shift towards products of higher quality.
