Calculation of the bulk modulus of simple and complex crystals with the chemical bond method

Article Abstract:

The study employs several methodologies, including the chemical bond method to analyze the relation between the lattice energies and the bulk modulus of various simple and complex binary inorganic crystals. The research explains the concept of lattice energy density well and shows that it has a linear relation with the bulk moduli of the same type of the crystals, as the calculated results agree with the theoretical calculations.

Study on optical properties of rare-earth ions in nanocrystalline monoclinic SrAl2O4: Ln [Ln=Ce(super 3+), Pr(super 3+), Tb(super 3+)]

Article Abstract:

SrAl2O4: Ln [Ln=Ce(super 3+), Pr(super 3+), Tb(super 3+)] nanocrystals is synthesized by the combustion method. It is found that the resulting SrAl2O4: Ln (Ln= Ce(super 3+), Pr(super 3+), Tb(super 3+)) nanocrystals have reduced and distorted monoclinic lattice compared with bulk materials.

Photoluminescence properties and analysis of spectral structure of Eu(sub 3+)-doped SrY(sub 2)O(sub 4)

Article Abstract:

The analysis of SrY(sub 2)O(sub 4) doped with Eu(sub 3+) powders by high-temperature solid state reaction were prepared. Photoluminescence measurements were carried out on a Hitachi F-4500 fluorescence spectrophotometer equipped with a 150-W xenon lamp as an excitation source.
