Carbon-coated core shell structured copper and nickel nanoparticles synthesized in an ionic liquid

Article Abstract:

A simple synthetic route to prepare carbon-coated copper or nickel nanoparticles was developed in an ionic liquid (IL) under microwave heating. It was found that in reactions carried out in an IL under microwave heating, the decomposition of this liquid takes place to form carbon that acts as a reducing agent for the copper and nickel ions to get pure metal nanoparticles and also forms a layer structure over the metal nanoparticles.

Fabrication of hollow spheres and thin films of nickel hydroxide and nickel oxide with hierarchical structures

Article Abstract:

A simple solution chemistry method was used to synthesize hollow spheres and thin films of Ni(OH)2 and NiO with unusual form and hierarchical structures. Ni(OH)2 hollow shells built up with nanoflakelets were obtained after subsequent removal of the core latex particles by dissolving PSA latex in toluene.

Determination of ionic conductivity and its impact on proton diffusion model for nickel hydroxide

Article Abstract:

The ionic conductivity for single beads of spherical nickel hydroxide in KOH solutions was determined, using a specially designed device. The refined model is supported by the influence of KOH concentration in bulk on chronoamperometry and transmission electron microscopy observations.
