Catalytic influence of Pt monolayer islands on the hydrogen electrochemistry of Ru(0001) studied by ultrahigh vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy and cyclic voltammetry

Article Abstract:

An investigation on the electrochemical behavior of well-defined Pt-modified Ru(0001) electrodes in perchloric acid solution is presented by cyclic voltammetry. The study concluded that hydrogen adsorption on the strained Pt monolayer is very weak, much weaker than on bulk Pt, which agrees well with theoretical predictions.

High-temperature sorbents for CO2 made of alkali metals doped on CaO supports

Article Abstract:

The basic sorbents based on CaO are synthesized, characterized, and tested for the high capacity and selectivity for CO2 and selected gas mixtures simulating flue gas. The highly promising sorbents based on Cs/CaO, that demonstrated zero affinity for N2 and O2 and very low affinity for water, are obtained from the results.

Simulated 'air bleed' oxidation of absorbed CO on carbon supported pt. part 2. Electrochemical measurements of hydrogen peroxide formation during O2 reduction in a double-disk electrode dual thin-layer flow cell

Article Abstract:

The results of potentiodynamic and transient potentiostatic measurements on the O2 reduction reaction (ORR) kinetics and on the CO adlayer oxidation in O2-saturated solution CO(sub ad)-covered Pt/Vulcan electrodes are described. The resulting data under fuel cell relevant conditions are presented.
