Charge transfer between a gold substrate and CdS nanoparticles assembled in hybrid organic-inorganic films

Article Abstract:

A quantitative study of substrate-quantum particles (QPs) charge-transfer channels is provided by laser-intensity dependent contact potential difference (CPD) measurements. The extracted electron-transfer rate constants exhibit marked differences in electron transfer from the film towards the substrate versus the backward process, and the charging of the hybrid films was found to be either negative or positive depending on the intensity of the laser that photoexcites the OPs.

Electronic and optical properties of chemically modified metal nanoparticles and molecularly bridged nanoparticle arrays

Article Abstract:

The recent progress towards characterizing electron transport in gold nanoparticles as a function of capping ligand charge state is highlighted. Single electron tunneling energies can be manipulated predictably via pH-induced charged changes of surface bound thiol capping ligands.

Optical absorption study of the surface plasmon resonance in gold nanoparticles immobilized onto a gold substrate by self-assembly technique

Article Abstract:

The resonance wavelength of the surface plasmon in gold nanoparticles above a gold substrate is measured by using transmission absorption spectroscopy. The results showed that the measured resonance wavelength increases as the particle size increases.
