Charge transport in luminescent polymers studied by in situ fluorescence spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The spectroelectrochemical behavior of a neutral poly-[2,7-(fluorene)-1,4-(phenylene)] is performed to clarify the doping mechanism and to determine the relative charge carrier mobility in the conjugated polymer. Controlled injection of charge quenches the fluorescent emission of the conjugated polymer and the injection of holes completely eliminates the emission, while electrons quench only up to one-third of the initial fluorescence of the polymer.

Electronic structures and charge transport properties of the organic semiconductor bis[1,2,5]thiadiazolo-p-quinobis(1,3-dithiole), BTQBT, and its derivatives

Article Abstract:

The correlation between crystals and film structures and charge of an important organic semiconductor bis[1,2,5]thiadiazolo-p-quinobis(1,3-dithiole), BTQBT, and its derivatives is analyzed. It is indicated that accurate electronic structure calculations, when coupled with angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), help establish the correlation between intermolecular packing and charge transport.

Time resolved fluorescence and sovatochromy of directly linked pyrene-DMA derivatives in alcoholic solution

Article Abstract:

Picosecond transient absorption spectroscopy and picosecond spectro-streak fluorescence measurements are carried out in order to understand the complex photophysical dynamics of directly linked donor-acceptor systems and the solvation dynamics in longer-chain alcohols. The results are interpreted with particular emphasis on solvation dependent electronic restructuring of the charge transfer species.
