Chemical state and local structure around titanium atoms in NaAlH4 doped with TiCl3 using X-ray absorption spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The evolution of the chemical state of titanium atoms after ballmilling and during different defined stages of the absorption or desorption reaction in sodium alienate doped with 5mol % TiCl3 is presented. X-ray absorption spectroscopy is applied to investigate NaAlH4doped with 5-mol %TiCl3 by ball milling.

Hole scavenging and photo-stimulated recombination of electron-hole pairs in aqueous TiO2 nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The rapid photobleaching caused by 532 and 1064 nm laser photoexcitation of trapped electrons generated by 355 nm photolysis of aqueous titania nanoparticles is studied. It is stated that this photobleaching is caused by rapid recombination of the resulting free electron and a trapped hole.

Efficient, rapid photooxidation of chemisorbed polyhydroxyl alcohols and carbohydrates by TiO2 nanoparticles in an aqueous solution

Article Abstract:

Electron dynamics in aqueous anatase nanoparticles is studied in the presence of hole scavengers like chemisorbed polyols and carbohydrates. It is concluded that scavenging efficiency rapidly increases with the number of anchoring hydroxyl groups.
