Chemoselective alkane oxidation by superoxo-vanadium(V) in vanadosilicate molecular sieves

Article Abstract:

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy of reactive superoxo-vanadium(V) species in vanadosilicate molecular sieves generated on contact with H2O2, tert-butyl hydroperoxide or (H2+O2) is reported. Oxidation of the primary C-H bond occurs only through a homolytic O-O bond cleavage, the secondary C-H bond oxidations proceed via both the homo- and heterolytic O-O cleavage mechanisms.

Role of hydrophobicity on structure of polymer-metal complexes

Article Abstract:

Metal complexation of a series of polymeric gels, with different degrees of ionization prepared from acrylic acid and acryloyl amino acid monomers are investigated. The binding of Cu(II) ions to the gels is studied by means of swelling, quantitative determination of the amount of 'bound' or complexed Cu(II) and EPR spectroscopy of Cu(II) complexes.

Effect of polymer-metal complexation on the phase transition of thermoreversible copolymer gels

Article Abstract:

The impact of complexation of metal ions on the volume transition temperature of a terpolymer gel containing N-tert-butylacrylamide, 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid and N,N'-methylene-bisacrylamide is discussed.
