Comment on 'electron source in photoinduced hydrogen production pt-supported TiO(sub 2) particles'

Article Abstract:

The use of X-ray diffraction data (XRD) and ex-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) in photochemical reaction oxidized Ti(super 4+) in the photocatalyst to Ti(super 5+) is investigated. Different views on oxidation of Ti(super 4+) to a solid oxide containing Ti(super 5+) on not being physically realistic are discussed.

Article Abstract:

The study shows that molecular oxygen reacts with bridging OH (OH(sub br)) groups formed as a result of water dissociation on the surface of rutile TiO2(110). The results suggest the negative influence of high water concentrations in gas-phase.
