Complexation of polyethers in cation exchange resin and application to chromatographic determination of complexation constants in solution

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to develop a chromatographic model for the polyether complexation at the interface between a cation exchange resin and a solution. It was previously presented that liquid chromatography was an effective method in studying the polyether chemistry in solution in the event that the separation was performed in an appropriate medium. Results revealed that the crown ether retention and the retention of a probe cation permitted the effective evaluation of equilibrium constants required for numerical estimations.

Comparison of radio-frequency-plasma- and ion-beam-induced surface modification of kaolinite

Article Abstract:

Radio frequency plasma has modified well-crystallized Georgia kaolin using varying energy inputs and periods of treatment times and a range of plasma gases. Study of the surface of the modified kaolin is done by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and FTIR.
