Complexes of polyelectrolyte-neutral double hydrophilic block copolymers with oppositely charged surfactant and polyelectrolyte

Article Abstract:

The structure and solution behavior of complexes formed between novel sodium (sulfamate-carboxylate)isoprene/ethylene oxide (SCIEO) anionic-neutral block polyelectrolytes and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTMAB), as well as quaternized poly(2-vinylpyridine) (QP2VP) are studied in aqueous solutions at pH 7. It is shown that SCIEO/QP2VP complexes have responded to increasing concentration of added salt and a transition from intrachain to an interchain association is observed for block copolymers/surfactant complexes.

Unified approach to ion transport and structural relaxation in amorphous polymers and glasses

Article Abstract:

A unified treatment of ion transport in glassy and polymeric materials is described, which is based on a kinetic approach involving activity energies and activation volumes obtained from ion transport and from high-pressure differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for structural relaxation. New activation energies versus volumes master plot is constructed, thus paving the way to a unified approach to ion transport in polymers and glasses.
