Conductivity and dielectric response in the ion-exchange intercalated mono- and double-layer hydrates Cd0.75PS3Na0.5(H2O)y, y = 1,2

Article Abstract:

The dielectric response and conductivity of the cadmium thiophosphate compound Cd1-xPS3Na2x(H20)y (y=1,2) were examined as a function of frequency and temperature. It was suggested that a similar dependence of conductivity on the extent of sodium (Na) ion hydration may be expected and monitored for C1-xPS3Na2x(H2O)y (y=1,2). It was revealed that the direct current conductivity of the compound is Arrhenius with an activation energy of 15.8 kcal/mol. The deintercalation of water happened via a Cd0.75PS3Na0.5(H2O)y phase y=1 and lattice expansion of 2.8 Angstrom.

Molecular and thermal diffusion coefficients of alkane-alkane and alkane-aromatic binary mixtures: Effect of shape and size of molecules

Article Abstract:

Molecular and thermal diffusion coefficients of binary mixtures of normal decane-normal alkanes and methylnaphthalene-normal alkanes are measured at atmospheric pressure and T=25 degree Celcius. Results present a significant effect of molecular shape and size on thermal and molecular diffusion coefficients and it shows a monotonic behavior in both aromatic-normal alkane and normal decane-normal alkane mixtures.
