Controllable synthesis and optical properties of novel ZnO cone arrays via vapor transport at low temperature

Article Abstract:

Novel ZnO cone arrays with controllable morphologies is synthesized on silicon (100) substrates by thermal evaporation of metal Zn powder at a low temperature of 570 degree Celsius without a metal catalyst. The results reveal that as the heads of the cones grow larger, gradual enhanced fluorescence backgrounds are observed in the Raman spectra, and UV emission decreases while green emission increases in photoluminescence spectra.

Synthesis and characterization of ZnO:In nanowires with superlattice structure

Article Abstract:

ZnO:In nanowires with superlattice structure have been synthesized by evaporating ZnO, In2O3, and Co2O3 mixed powders. A growth model based on the vapor-liquid-solid mechanism has been proposed for interpreting the growth of nanowires.
