Coupling between the thermal evolution of the Heme pocket and the external matrix structure in trehalose coated carboxymyoglobin

Article Abstract:

Experimental proof for the existence, in trehalose coated carboxymyoglobin, of a structured environment of the protein, tightly couples to the heme pocket structure, as experienced by the bound CO molecule is presented. It is found that in hard matrixes the protein/matrix structural coupling is long-lived and long-range, extending through the whole sample.

Optimal particle size for reaction rate oscillation in CO oxidation on nanometer-sized palladium particles

Article Abstract:

Based on a mesoscopic stochastic model, chemical langevin equations were used to study the effect of particle size in the catalytic oxidation of CO of nanometer-sized palladium particles. The results indicated that there exists an optimal particle size for the CO oxidation over nanometer-sized supported palladium particles.

Structure-dynamics coupling between protein and external matrix in sucrose-coated and in trehalose-coated MbCO: An FTIR study

Article Abstract:

FTIR measurements on carbon-myoglobin (MbCO) embedded in a sucrose-water matrix are performed to study the degrees of freedom coupling between protein and external matrix. The findings suggest that trehalose organizes a friendly sugar-water environment in which native biological structures are better entrapped.
