Coverage-mediated suppression of blinking in solid state quantum dot conjugated organic composite nanostructures

Article Abstract:

Size-correlated single-molecule fluorescence measurements of CdSe quantum dots functionalized with oligo(phenylene vinylene) (OPV) ligands have displayed modified fluorescence intermittency statistics that are highly sensitive to the degree of ligand coverage on the quantum dot surface. The studies have revealed a clear connection between blinking suppression and the degree of ligand coverage.

Development of new [Cd.sup.2+] and [Pd.sup.2+] Lennard-Jones parameters for liquid simulations

Article Abstract:

New Lennard-Jones parameters are presented for [Cd.sup.2+] and [Pb.sup.2+] ion-water interactions and a general methodology is described to obtain these parameters for any ion. [Cd.sup.2+] has shown a lesser diffusion coefficient when compared to [Pb.sup.2+], despite its smaller atomic radius, indicating a more persistent first coordination shell for the cadmium(II) ion.

Observation of interband two-photon absorption saturation in CdS nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The observation of interband two-photon absorption (TPA) saturation in cadmium sulfide nanocrystals (CdS NCs) under intense femtosecond laser excitation with 1.6 eV photon energy is reported. The observation is compared to interband TPA saturation in bulk CdS under the same experimental conditions.
