Decorated rods: A 'bottom-up' self-assembly of monomolecular DNA complexes

Article Abstract:

Diffusive properties of branched polyethyleneimine (bPEI)-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) complexed with linear DNA fragments are studied as a function of systematically decreasing bPEI length. The resulting PEGylated complexes have shown high stability against both salt and protein and hence are useful for in vivo gene delivery studies.

Polymer modifies the critical region of the coexisting liquid phases

Article Abstract:

The effect of the well-defined polymer in phase separation of binary mixtures is investigated by new refractive index measurements and coexistence curve study of polyethylene oxide (PEO). Results show that the coexistence curves obviously shift down with increasing PEO concentration in 1W mixture and PEO modifies the critical region.

Structural conformation in a poly(ethylene oxide) film determined by X-ray emission spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

X-ray emission spectroscopy is used for examining the electronic structure of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) in a thin film. The polymer conformation in PEO is different from the crystalline bulk polymer, implying that film casting has induced the same conformation in the polymer not depending on the presence of salt.
