Dielectric probe of intermolecular interactions in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and PMMA+SiO2 matrixes doped with luminescent organics

Article Abstract:

A dielectric study performed by means of the thermally stimulated depolarization thermally stimulated depolarization currents technique (super 15) in a range of poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) based materials, bulk amorphous PMMA, diphastic PMMA+SiO2 composites and the same matrixes with dispersed laser-active dyes. The dielectric strength of the signals at the high temperature part of the spectrum is highly dependent on the water content of the sample and accordingly the conductivity level of the polymeric phase.

Aggregation and exciton emission of a cyanine dye encapsulated within mesoporous MCM-41

Article Abstract:

An optically excited luminescence of a composite system consisting of an aggregated cyanine dye-specifically tetrachlorobenzimidazolocarbocyanine (TTBC) occluded within mesoporous aluminosiliceous MCM-41 is discussed. The composite consisting of J-aggregated TTBC and the aluminosilicate represents a florescent nanomaterial that possesses the properties of the aggregate.
