Dielectric properties of C70-solvate crystals grown from a benzene solution

Article Abstract:

A study of the real and imaginary parts of the complex conductivity of C70 crystals in benzene solution revealed two frequency-independent anomalies. At temperatures of 150 and 275 K and at a frequency range of 20 Hz-1 MHz, these crystals with maximum size of 3 x 3 x 0.2 presented altered behavior that could be interpreted as phase transitions. The anomaly at 275 K appears to be similar to the phase transition for C70 grown from vapor. The dielectric anomaly at 150 K coincides with the lattice anomaly observable from crystals that underwent evaporation of solution and sublimation.

Molecular Dynamics of C70S48: Dielectric Function and NMR Study

Article Abstract:

The DRS is able to monitor cooperative processes and, thus, provide a link between molecular spectroscopy and NMR, which monitors properties of individual constituents, and techniques characterizing the bulk properties of the sample. DRS and NMR are complimentary methods and NMR studies only the carbon atoms, whereas the dielectric function includes cooperative effects from the whole structure.

Inverse temperature transition of a biomimetic elastin model: Reactive flux analysis of folding/unfolding and its coupling to solvent dielectric relaxation

Article Abstract:

The inverse temperature transition of a biomimetic model for elastin, capped GVG(VPGVG) in liquid water is investigated with a comprehensive classical molecular dynamics study. The temperature dependence of the solvation structure and dynamics of the octapeptide are compared using three common force fields, CHARMM, GROMOS, and OPLS.
