Difference in surface properties between insoluble monolayer and adsorbed film from kinetics of water evaporation and BAM image

Article Abstract:

Evaporation rate of water molecules across three kinds of interfaces air/water interface, air/surfactant solution and air/water interface covered by insoluble monolayer was examined. The images of three surfactant solution interfaces are similar to that of just the water surface, while distinct structures of molecular assemblies are observed for the insoluble monolayer.

Scattering accommodation, and trapping of HCl in collisions with a hydroxylated self-assembled monolayer

Article Abstract:

The dynamics governing collisions of HCl with surface hydroxyl groups are explored using molecular beam scattering technique. The molecular beam provides control over the incident energy, while well-ordered self-assembled monolayers are used to afford a highly characterized surface with the hydroxyl groups isolated at the interface.

O/W emulsion of n-alkylbenzene-ionic surfactant/water systems

Article Abstract:

The maximum additive concentration of benzene, toluene, ethybenzene, n-propylbenzene, and n-pentylbenzene into two kinds of ionic micelles, were solubilized by molecular transfer. This solubilization was analyzed by partition equilibrium of the solubilizates between aqueous phase and micellar phase.
