Direct synthesis of well-ordered and unusually reactive MnSBA-15 mesoporous molecular sieves with high manganese content

Article Abstract:

The mesoporous MnSBA-15 materials with different [n.sub.Si]/[n.sub.Mn] ratios f 4, 8, 20, and 50 are synthesized for the first time, using manganese nitrate tetrahydrate and Pluronic 123 triblock polymer [(EO)20(PO)70-(EO)20]. With increasing synthesis temperature, an increase the unit cell parameter, pore size, and pore volume and a decrease the specific surface area and pore wall thickness of MnSBA-15 could be obviously noted by the results of XRD and N2 adsorption.

Embryonic nuclei-induced alloying process for the reproducible synthesis of blue-emitting Zn(sub x)Cd(sub 1-x)Se nanocrystals with long-time thermal stability in size distribution and emission wavelength

Article Abstract:

High-quality short-wavelength-emitting Zn(sub x)Cd(sub 1-x)Se nanocrystals with emission wavelengths tunable from 440 to 550 nm are prepared through the incorporation of a Zn precursor into the newly fromed CdSe nuclei together with the remaining Cd/Se precursors (or Cd precursor into the ZnSe nuclei with the remaining Zn/Se precursors).

Synthesis of dumbbell-shaped manganese oxide nanocrystals

Article Abstract:

The development of a morphologically controlled synthesis of manganese oxide (MnO) nanocrystals is urgently needed to meet the demand for exploring the potentials of MnO. Dumbbell-shaped homogenous manganese oxide (MnO) nanocrystals are obtained via the pyrolysis of manganese formate in triocytalamine/oleic acid media.
