Dynamic surface properties of solution of poly(ethylene oxide) and polyethylene glycols

Article Abstract:

A local maximum of the damping coefficient of transversal waves are discovered for dilute solutions of poly(ethylene glycol) 400. It was found that this maximum disappears and damping coefficient decreases monotonically with the concentration of polymers of higher molecular weight in the region of dilute solutions.

Interactions of poly(ethylene oxide) brushes with chemically selective surfaces

Article Abstract:

The force-distance profiles between poly(ethylene glycol) 5000 brushes and self-assembled alkanethiol monolayers with varying amounts of nonpolar methyl-terminal groups are measured. The result reveals that poly(ethylene oxide) would adsorb to nonpolar, hydrophobic surfaces.
