Effect of amphiphile hydrophobicity on wetting behaviors of ternary water+oil+amphiphile mixtures: A density functional theory approach

Article Abstract:

A density functional theory combined with the statistical associating fluid theory (SAFT) is applied to describe the phase and wetting behaviors of ternary water + oil + amphiphile mixtures. The results obtained agrees with the wetting behavior as well as the phase behavior of the water + tetradecane + C6E2 mixture qualitatively.

Effect of molecular structure on wetting behavior at the air-liquid interface of water + alcohol mixtures

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted, using eight different short-chain alcohols, to investigate the wetting behavior of binary water + alcohol mixtures. The result reveals the transition of partial wetting to complete wetting, while the molecular structure of alcohols evolves from linear (C5E0) to near spherical (t-C5E0) shape.

Bulk and interfacial wetting behavior of binary mixtures induced by associating between unlike-pair molecules

Article Abstract:

The statistical associating fluid theory of Wertheim is applied to describe binary mixtures with associating between unlike-pair molecules. Both interfacial wetting behavior and wetting transitions are carefully examined in all the vapor-liquid-liquid, three-phase-coexisting regions of the binary mixtures.
