Effect of nanocavity confinement on the relaxation of anesthetic analogues: Relevance to encapsulated drug photochemistry

Article Abstract:

A report on fast relaxation of a caged molecule, methyl 2-amino-4,5-dimethoxy benzoate, an aesthetic analogous to procaine and tetracaine in order to shine some light on the role played by the alpha-, beta-, and gamma-CD) confinement effect on the photorelaxation of caged drugs is presented. The results show a large increase of emission quantum yield and lifetime upon encapsulation by beta-CD.

Observation of three behaviors in confined liquid water within a nanopool hosting proton-transfer reactions

Article Abstract:

The rotational and diffusional dynamics of 7-hydroxyquinoline (7HQ) within a reverse micelle (RM) containing different amounts of water are studied. The H-bond breaking and making within the RM to give new structures of the probe has strongly affected the environment fluidization in different extents, which are reflected in different relaxation times of the structures with similar size.

Effect of cyclodextrin nanocavity confinement on the photorelaxation of the cardiotonic drug milrinone

Article Abstract:

A report on steady-state UB-visible absorption, emission, and picosecond emission studies of milrinone (MIR) drug in neutral water and complexed to cyclodextrins (alpha-, beta-, gamma-CD and dimethyl-beta-CD (DM-beta-CD)) is presented. The results reveal that MIR forms a 1:1 inclusion complex with CD.
