Effects of mutational (Lys to Ala) surface charge changes on the redox properties of electrode-immobilized cytochrome c

Article Abstract:

The thermodynamics and kinetics of the heterogeneous protein-electrode electron-transfer (ET) reaction of untrimethylated yeast iso-1-cytochrome c (cytc) and its single and multiple Lys and Ala variants were determined by voltammetry. Results suggest the species dependent orientation of the protein toward the negatively charged self-assembled monolayers (SAM).

Protein-protein interactions studied by EPR relaxation measurements: Cytochrome c and cytochrome c oxidase

Article Abstract:

Multi-frequency pulse electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy is used to study the complex formed between cyrochrome c oxidase from Paracoccus denitrificans and its electron-transfer partner cytochrome c. The results have indicated that a broad distribution in distances and relative orientations between the two proteins exist within the complex.
