Electron transport in coumarin-dye-sensitized nanocrystalline TiO(sub 2) electrodes

Article Abstract:

The electron transport kinetics in terms of electron diffusion coefficient (D) and electron lifetime (tau) in coumarin-dye-sensitized nanocrystalline TiO(sub 2) electrodes by intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS) and intensity-modulated photovoltage spectroscopy (IMVS) was investigated. It suggests from the investigation that the molecular structure of the absorbed dyes also affects the kinetics of electron transport in the TiO(sub 2) electrodes.

Molecular rotation at negatively charged surfactant/aqueous interfaces

Article Abstract:

The influence of charge on the rotational dynamics of the molecular probe coumarin 314 (C314) at air/water interfaces covered with the negatively charged surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was studied using femtosecond time-resolved second harmonic spectroscopy. Findings indicate that the effect of SDS on the rotation time of C314 relative to the surfactant free air/water interface is small considering the marked influence of C314 on the surface pressure.

Influence of electrolytes on the microenvironment of F127 triblock copolymer micelles: A solvation and rotational dynamics study of coumarin dyes

Article Abstract:

The effects of electrolyte on the hydration behavior F127 triblock copolymer micelles are investigated by using dynamic Stokes' shift and fluorescence anisotropy measurements of coumarin 153 (C153) and coumarin 151 (C151) as fluorescence probes. The results have shown that [Na.sup.+] ions reside deep in the corona region in comparison to [Li.sup.+] ions and larger clusters of F127 micelles are formed above 2M LiCl.
