Electrooxidation of carbon monoxide on gold nanoparticle ensemble electrodes: Effects of particle coverage

Article Abstract:

Gold nanoparticles were attached to amine-functionalized indium tin oxide substrate to form particle ensemble electrodes with controlled particle coverage. Electrooxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) on these particle ensemble electrodes was studied in CO-saturated alkaline solutions by means of cyclic voltammetry, with an emphasis on the effects of particle coverage.

Agglomeration, sputtering, and carbon monoxide adsorption behavior for Au/Al2O3 prepared by Au(sub n)(super +) deposition on Al2O3/NiAl(110)

Article Abstract:

Small gold clusters, Au(sub n)(super +) (n = 1,2,3,4), are deposited on an ordered Al2O3 film grown on NiAl(110), and changes in morphology and electronic properties with deposition/annealing temperature and cluster size are investigated. Results indicate that dispersed gold results from 95 k (LT) deposition of Au(super +).

Theoretical study of CO adsorption on gold/alumina substrates

Article Abstract:

First principles calculations are presented for the adsorption of on Au atom on both alumina substrate and the adsorption of [Au.sub.8] on [[Al.sub.2][O.sub.3]].sub.20]. The CO adsorption on the minimum energy structure of these three different gold/aluminium systems is also studied.
