Electrostatically controlled diffusion of carboxylic acid derivatized silver colloidal particles in thermally evaporated fatty amine films

Article Abstract:

The effect of colloidal particle concentration, solution pH and film thickness on the kinetic properties of cluster incorporation in thermally evaporated fatty amine films synthesized from quartz-crystal microgravimetry measurements was investigated. Specifically, electrostatically controlled diffusion of carboxylic acid derivatized silver colloidal particles was analyzed. It was found that the nature of the cluster-diffusion curves was slightly different for amine films annealed prior to immersion in the colloidal solution.

Transmetalation reaction between hydrophobic silver nanoparticles and aqueous chloroaurate ions at the air-water interface

Article Abstract:

The possibility of carrying out the transmetalation reaction between hydrophobic silver nanoparticles assembled and constrained at the air-water interface and subphase gold ions is investigated. Transmetelation reactions between nanoparticles constrained into a close-packed structure and appropriate metal ions could lead to a new strategy for metallic cross-linking of nanoparticles and generation of coatings with promising optoelectonic behavior.

Synthesis and assembly of CdS nanoparticles in Keggin ion colloidal particles as templates

Article Abstract:

The formation of needle-shaped colloidal particles of phosphotungstate Keggin ions complexed with Cd(super 2+) ions is demonstrated. The metal cation directed morphology variation of Keggin ion colloidal particles and their use as a new class of inorganic scaffolds for the nanomaterials are some of the exciting features of work with future implications in nanocomposites design.
